One of our officers on foot requested an e-scooter rider to stop. The rider failed to do so and fled, but other officers quickly apprehended him. His e-scooter was seized. ✅ Reminder: E-scooters are classed as motor vehicles. Failing to stop for an officer is an offence. While we don’t usually prosecute for simply riding, this male is now being charged with failing to stop, no insurance, and no driving licence.We’ve been out checking e-bikes to make sure illegal, high-powered bikes aren’t being used on Week Street, where they pose a danger to pedestrians. We’ve started a trial tagging system for bikes we’ve tested, so we can focus on those not previously checked and avoid repeatedly stopping the same riders. ➡️ In total, we seized two e-scooters and one illegal e-bike during these checks.Alcohol was seized from repeat offenders drinking in the town centre.Located a missing child and returned them safely home.Searched a male for drugs following community reports of repeated drug use in part of the town.Dealt with a report of a stolen phone.Assisted a male who believed he was having a heart attack.Removed two men from an address near the town who were taking advantage of the resident.
